Our Story

Border Community Nurses, has been caring for residents of the Albury Wodonga community for more than 30 years. We are the borders largest nurse – led privately owned nursing service. Our caring team of health professionals specialize in the provision of exceptional service, in all sectors of the healthcare industry.

Formerly NGM Home Nurses, Border Community Nurses changed its name in 2023 to represent ourselves more clearly for what we are, a dedicated team of professional Registered Nurses offering the Border Community the highest quality of nursing care.

We provide exceptional in-home nursing care and customized care management based on your health care requirements. We are committed to helping people remain in their own home, safely and for as long as possible.

Kathryn Kennedy

Director


Kate is a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with an impressive 30 years plus of experience in both clinical and home care settings. Kate purchased NGM Home Nurses on 1st February 2018, after working for them for 15 years. Kate and her husband David were born and grew up in Albury. They raised their family here and are well known and respected members of our community.

Kellie Hughes

Practice Manager


Kellie, a Registered Nurse of 16 years, has a diverse range of nursing skills and expertise from working in hospital, community and in home settings. Growing up on the Border, she raised her family in the Albury/ Wodonga Community. Kellie has worked for Border Community Nurses for 8 years. She brings her caring nature, beautiful smile and extensive nursing and administration experience.

Accounts Manager


Di has lived in Albury for 28 years and has worked for Border Community Nurses for the last 9 years. She has more than 30 years’ experience in office administration, Pharmacy, Accounting and Bookkeeping.

Our Nursing Team

Our team of nurses are the backbone of BCN, and all share a passion for working in the Community. Our staff are highly trained and skilled and can take care of all your nursing requirements safely in the comfort of your own home.

All of our staff are Registered (Division 1) Nurses and hold current registrations through the Nursing & Midwifery Board – AHPRA.

All staff are up to date with vaccinations, including COVID 19 Vaccinations.

COVID-19 Response

Border Community Nurses is contributing to the national response to COVID-19 through proactive measures to ensure client and staff safety and wellbeing.

  • BCN is following all Australian Government advice and direction regarding COVID-19 and aged care.
  • All BCN employees, receive annual training and testing on Infection Control practices and Hand Hygiene.
  • All BCN employees have undertaken refresher training and education on infection control practices.
  • All BCN employees are receiving regular and updated information on COVID-19 and safety practices.
  • BCN is providing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to all staff, including face masks and sanitiser.
  • Our staff are monitoring the wellbeing of clients and immediately report any symptoms of concern.
  • Should you develop symptoms of concern, have someone staying with you who develops such symptoms, or who has travelled overseas recently, we encourage you to notify us immediately so safety measures can be taken.
